How often should the oil be changed in a Kia Picanto?

I just bought a Kia Picanto and I'm wondering how often I should change the oil. It has a 1.0 liter engine and I mostly use it for city driving.

Congratulations on your new Kia Picanto, Samantha! As a general rule, it is recommended to change the oil in your car every 5,000 to 7,500 miles or every 6 to 12 months, whichever comes first. However, since you primarily use your car for city driving, which involves frequent stopping and starting, it would be best to stick to the lower end of that range and change the oil every 5,000 miles or 6 months. This will help ensure that your engine stays properly lubricated and running smoothly.

Hi Samantha, I own a Kia Picanto myself and I change the oil every 5,000 miles. It's always better to err on the side of caution rather than risk damaging your engine. Also, make sure to use the recommended type of oil for your car. This information can be found in your owner's manual or by contacting your local dealership.

Hey Samantha, congrats on your new car! I have the same model and I've found that changing the oil every 6 months works best for me. However, if you drive your car more frequently or in harsher conditions, you may want to consider changing the oil every 5,000 miles instead. Just remember to also check the oil level regularly and top up if needed. Happy driving!
