How Do I Change the Brake Pads on a Kia Sorento?

I recently bought a Kia Sorento and I'm looking to change the brake pads myself. I've never done it before and I'm not sure where to start. Can anyone guide me through the process?

Hi Samantha, changing brake pads on a Kia Sorento is not as difficult as it may seem. First, make sure you have all the necessary tools and parts. Then, follow these simple steps: 1. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel with the brake pads you want to change. 2. Raise the car with a jack and secure it with jack stands. 3. Remove the wheel and locate the brake caliper. 4. Use a C-clamp to push the caliper piston back into its housing. 5. Remove the old brake pads and install the new ones. 6. Put everything back together and repeat the process on the other wheels. Remember to bleed the brakes to ensure proper functionality. Best of luck!

Hey Samantha, I've changed brake pads on my Kia Sorento before and here are few tips I learned along the way: 1. Use a brake cleaner to remove any dirt or oil from the caliper and rotor. 2. Use a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications. 3. Always replace the brake pads on both sides of the same axle. 4. It's a good idea to replace the brake hardware kit as well. 5. Don't forget to inspect the brake rotors and replace them if necessary. Hope this helps!

Hi Samantha, I would recommend watching a tutorial video before attempting to change the brake pads on your Kia Sorento. It's always helpful to visually see the process and have a step-by-step guide. Also, make sure to wear gloves while working on the brakes and avoid getting any brake dust on your skin. Safety first! Good luck!
