My Kia Sportage's headlight bulb has burnt out and I need to replace it. Can someone guide me through the process? I'm not very familiar with car maintenance.
ReplyFirst, park your Kia Sportage on a level surface and turn off the engine. Open the hood and locate the back of the headlight assembly. You should see a black rubber cover with wires coming out of it. Remove this cover by twisting it counterclockwise.
Next, unhook the wire harness by pressing down on the clip and pulling it away from the bulb. Then, you will see a metal retaining clip that holds the bulb in place. Release the clip and carefully remove the old bulb.
Before installing the new bulb, make sure not to touch the glass part with your bare hands as oil from your skin can damage the bulb. Use a paper towel or gloves to handle the new bulb. Insert it into the headlight assembly and secure it with the retaining clip.
