I've noticed that my Kia Ceed's brakes are not performing as well as they used to. I think it's time to change the brake pads but I'm not sure how to do it. Can someone walk me through the process?
ReplyFirst, make sure you have all the necessary tools like a jack, lug wrench, and a C-clamp. Park your car on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Loosen the lug nuts of the front wheel slightly before jacking up the car. Once you've jacked up the car, remove the wheel and locate the brake caliper. Unscrew the caliper and use the C-clamp to push the piston back in, then remove the old brake pads and replace them with new ones.
I highly recommend watching a tutorial video before attempting to change the brake pads, as it can be a bit tricky the first time. Also, always change the brake pads in pairs (both front or both rear) to maintain vehicle balance.
