I recently purchased a Kia Sorento and want to make sure I am properly checking my oil level. Can anyone provide a step-by-step guide on how to do this?
ReplyFirst, make sure your Kia Sorento is on a level surface and the engine is turned off. Then, locate the dipstick which is usually a brightly colored handle and pull it out. Wipe it clean with a cloth or paper towel and reinsert it. Pull it out and check the oil level. If it is below the minimum marker, it is time to add more oil. Remember to use the recommended oil type for your vehicle.
I typically check my oil level every 3,000 miles or when I notice any change in engine performance. It is always better to be safe than sorry! If you are unsure about checking your oil level, you can always take it to a trusted mechanic and have them show you how to do it.
