To check tire pressure on your Kia Sportage, first ensure that your tires are cold or have not been driven for at least an hour. Then, locate and unscrew the valve stem cap on each tire. Use a tire pressure gauge to measure the pressure and compare it to the recommended pressure listed in your owner's manual or on the driver's side door jamb. If the pressure is too low, use an air compressor to fill it to the correct level. If the pressure is too high, you can release air by pressing on the center pin of the valve stem with the tire pressure gauge. Make sure to replace the valve stem cap after checking the pressure.

Maintaining the correct tire pressure is important for optimal performance and safety. It's important to regularly check and adjust the pressure, especially before long drives or in extreme weather conditions. You can also invest in a tire pressure monitoring system to easily keep track of your tire pressure. Remember, under-inflated tires can lead to decreased fuel efficiency and over-inflated tires can cause poor handling and even blowouts. Take care of your tires and your Kia Sportage will thank you!

One pro tip for checking tire pressure is to place a penny into the tread of your tire, upside down with Lincoln's head facing towards you. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, then it's time to replace your tires as the tread is too low. This is a quick and easy way to gauge if your tires are due for a change. Remember to also check your spare tire and keep it properly inflated in case of emergencies.
