How do I increase the fuel efficiency in my Kia Sportage?

I recently purchased a Kia Sportage and I love it, but I've noticed that I'm spending a lot on gas. Is there anything I can do to improve the fuel efficiency?

Hi Natalie, congratulations on your new Kia Sportage! To improve the fuel efficiency, you can start by keeping your tires properly inflated. Under-inflated tires can decrease fuel efficiency by up to 3%. Also, avoid idling for long periods of time and try to combine errands in one trip to minimize driving. Additionally, consider getting regular tune-ups and changing your air filter regularly for better engine performance. Hope this helps!

Hey Natalie, I own a Kia Sportage as well and I've noticed that avoiding sudden accelerations and heavy braking can also improve fuel efficiency. Driving at a consistent speed and avoiding unnecessary weight in the car can also help save on gas. Keep track of your gas mileage and experiment with different driving habits to see what works best for your specific Kia Sportage. Best of luck!

Hey there, I've been a mechanic for over 20 years and I've seen a lot of fuel efficiency issues with Kia Sportages. One tip I can give you is to use the recommended fuel grade for your car. Using a higher octane fuel won't necessarily improve fuel efficiency and it will only end up costing you more. Stick to the manufacturer's recommended fuel grade to save some money on gas.
