How do I reset the airbag light on my Kia Sportage?

My airbag light has been on for a few days now. I've researched online and it seems like it could be a simple fix, but I'm not sure where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Samantha! First, try checking the connections and wires under your driver's seat. If any appear loose or disconnected, reconnect them and see if that resolves the issue. If not, you may need to have the airbag system scanned and reset by a mechanic.

I had the same issue with my Sportage and it turned out to be a faulty sensor. If checking the connections doesn't work, I highly recommend taking it to a certified Kia dealership to have it diagnosed and repaired.

I had this problem in my Kia Optima and it ended up being a faulty clock spring. It's worth mentioning to your mechanic as a possible cause.
