How does electronic stability control work in the Kia Niro?

I've heard that electronic stability control is an important safety feature in modern cars. Can someone explain how it works in the Kia Niro specifically?

Hi Robert, electronic stability control (ESC) is a safety feature that helps improve the handling and stability of your vehicle. It uses sensors to detect if the car is sliding or losing traction, and then automatically applies individual brakes to specific wheels to help regain control.

ESC is especially helpful in slippery road conditions, such as during rain or snow. In the Kia Niro, the ESC system also works together with the antilock braking system (ABS) to further improve stability and control.

In case of emergency situations, ESC can also adjust the engine torque and throttle to help keep the vehicle on its intended path. It's a great feature to have for added peace of mind while driving.
