How often should I change the brake pads on a Kia Sportage?

I own a Kia Sportage and I want to know how often I should change the brake pads. I commute to work and often drive in stop-and-go traffic.

It is recommended to change brake pads every 50,000 miles or when they reach a thickness of 3mm. However, if you frequently drive in stop-and-go traffic, you may need to change them more often.

A good rule of thumb is to visually inspect your brake pads every 6 months or every 10,000 miles. If they appear worn down, it's time to change them.

J

Listen for any unusual noises when braking, such as squeaking or grinding. This could indicate that your brake pads need to be replaced.

E

Keep an eye on your brake warning light. If it turns on, it could be a sign that your brake pads are worn and need to be replaced.
