How often should I change the transmission fluid in my Kia Rio?

I have a 2018 Kia Rio and I am wondering how often I should change the transmission fluid. I have heard conflicting answers and I don't want to damage my car by not changing it frequently enough. Can you provide some insight on the recommended frequency?

Hi Esther! It is recommended to change the transmission fluid in your Kia Rio every 60,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first. This will ensure optimal performance and lifespan of your transmission. However, if you frequently drive in harsh conditions or tow heavy loads, it's best to change it more frequently, around every 30,000 miles or 3 years.

Hi Esther! I would suggest changing your transmission fluid every 30,000 miles or 3 years, especially if you frequently drive in stop-and-go traffic or have a habit of accelerating quickly. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to protecting your transmission.

Hi Esther! You should definitely prioritize changing your transmission fluid every 60,000 miles or 5 years, but if you want to be extra cautious, you can change it every 40,000 miles or 4 years. This will ensure maximum protection for your transmission and keep your car running smoothly.
