How often should the oil be changed in a Kia Sportage?

I have recently bought a Kia Sportage and I am wondering how often should I change the oil in order to maintain its performance. I have heard different answers from different sources and I am a bit confused. Can someone please give me a definitive answer?

The recommended interval for oil changes in a Kia Sportage is every 7,500 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. However, it is always best to check your owner's manual for the specific guidelines for your vehicle.

If you use your Kia Sportage for heavy-duty activities such as towing or driving in extreme weather conditions, it is recommended to change the oil more frequently, around every 5,000 miles.

A

As a general rule, it is better to err on the side of caution and change the oil more frequently rather than risking damage to your engine. So if you are unsure, it's always safe to stick to the 5,000 mile interval.
