How to fix reverse gear jerk in Kia Ceed?

I have noticed that my Kia Ceed has a jerky movement when I put it in reverse gear. It feels like it is struggling to engage the gear and then suddenly jerks backward. It only happens when I am reversing up a hill. Is there any way to fix this issue?

I had a similar issue with my Kia Ceed. My mechanic suggested that it could be a problem with the transmission fluid. He advised to check the transmission fluid level and quality and replace it if necessary.

Another possible cause could be a worn out rear engine mount. If the mount is damaged, it can cause vibrations and jerking motions when reversing up an incline. I recommend getting it inspected and replaced if needed.

I experienced the same issue and it turned out to be a faulty reverse gear switch. The switch was not engaging properly, causing the gear to jerk when reversing uphill. Bring your car to a Kia dealership or a trusted mechanic to get it replaced.
