I recently purchased a Kia Ceed with keyless entry. I'm worried about the safety and security of leaving the key in my car or carrying it around with me. Is there a specific location I should store it to prevent theft? Any other precautions I should take with this type of key?
ReplyI also have a Kia Ceed with keyless entry! The best place to store the key is in a Faraday bag when you're at home. This prevents anyone from being able to access the key's signal and potentially unlock or start your car. When you're out and about, keep the key in a secure, zippered pocket or bag. Never leave it in your car or in plain sight.
Hi Samantha, I've had my Kia Ceed for a few years now and haven't had any issues with the keyless entry. Just make sure to always keep your key on you or in a secure location, and never leave it in your car. And don't worry, the car won't unlock itself if the key is inside!
I learned the hard way to never leave my keyless entry key in my car, even if it's hidden. My car was stolen because the thieves were able to use a device to amplify the key's signal and unlock my car. Always keep the key on your person or in a Faraday bag to prevent this from happening.
