How to troubleshoot starting issues with a Kia Picanto?

I recently purchased a used Kia Picanto and have been experiencing difficulties with starting the engine. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to start the car and other times it won't start at all. Any advice on how to troubleshoot and fix this issue?

First, check the battery to make sure it has enough charge. If it is low, try charging it or replacing it with a new one. If the battery is not the issue, then it could be a problem with the starter or ignition. It's best to take it to a mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

Another possibility is a faulty fuel pump. If the pump is not delivering enough fuel to the engine, it can cause starting issues. Try turning the key to the 'on' position and listening for a humming sound near the gas tank. If you don't hear anything, it could be a sign of a bad fuel pump.

Have you tried using a different key? Sometimes the key's transponder chip can get damaged or lose its programming, causing issues with starting the car. If you have a spare key, try using that and see if it makes a difference.
