Troubleshooting issues with Kia Niro's regenerative braking system

I recently purchased a Kia Niro and have noticed that the regenerative braking system seems to be malfunctioning. The brakes don't seem to regenerate as much energy as they should, and the car has trouble coming to a complete stop. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hi Samantha, thanks for reaching out. This issue could be caused by a few different things. First, check to make sure your brake pads are not worn out. If they are, they will need to be replaced. It is also possible that there is an issue with the regenerative braking system itself. In this case, it is best to take your car to a Kia dealership for a professional diagnosis and repair.

Hi Samantha, I had a similar issue with my Kia Niro and it turned out to be a problem with the brake calipers. Have your mechanic check them to see if they need to be replaced. If they do, make sure to get them replaced with genuine Kia parts.

Hello Samantha, another potential cause of this issue could be low brake fluid levels. Check the brake fluid reservoir and if it is low, top it off with the recommended fluid. If the problem persists, it may be a more complex issue and should be looked at by a professional.
