My Kia Sorento's engine keeps overheating, but I can't figure out why. What could be causing this issue?
ReplyFirst and foremost, make sure your coolant levels are topped off. Low coolant can cause your engine to overheat. Check for any leaks or cracks in your coolant reservoir or hoses. If you see any, they will need to be replaced.
Another common cause of engine overheating is a faulty thermostat. If your thermostat is stuck closed, it won't allow coolant to flow properly and regulate the engine's temperature. Consider getting it replaced.
In some cases, a malfunctioning water pump can also lead to engine overheating. A quick way to check is to carefully touch the radiator while the engine is running. If it's warm at the top and cool at the bottom, your water pump may be failing.
