What causes a loud noise when I am turning the steering wheel on my Kia Ceed?

I just recently noticed that when I am making sharp turns or maneuvering around tight corners, there is a loud noise coming from the steering wheel. It sounds like a squeak or a creak and I am not sure what could be causing it. Can someone please explain what could be causing this and if it is something I should be concerned about?

It is possible that the noise is coming from the power steering system. This could be due to a lack of lubrication or a loose belt. I would recommend bringing your car to a mechanic to get it checked out.

Another possibility could be a worn out CV joint. This can also cause a loud noise when turning. I would advise taking your car to a trusted mechanic to inspect the CV joint.

If you hear the noise only when the car is cold, it could be due to a lack of power steering fluid. Check the fluid levels and if it is low, top it up to see if the noise goes away.
