What does the Smart Cruise Control feature do in a Kia Sportage?

I'm considering purchasing a Kia Sportage, but I'm not sure about the Smart Cruise Control feature. Can someone explain what it does and if it's worth the extra cost?

Smart Cruise Control is a feature that uses radar and sensors to maintain a safe distance from the car in front of you while driving on the highway.

I have this feature on my Kia Sportage and it's been a game changer for long drives. It takes a lot of the stress out of highway driving.

I actually found the Smart Cruise Control to be not as smooth as I would have liked. It can be a little jarring when the system kicks in to slow you down.
