What does the 'Sportmatic' mode in the Kia Rio do?

I noticed there is a 'Sportmatic' mode in my Kia Rio. What exactly does this mode do and when should I use it?

As the name suggests, the 'Sportmatic' mode is meant for more spirited driving. It holds gears longer and allows you to easily downshift for more power. It's perfect for when you need a burst of acceleration, such as passing another vehicle or entering a freeway.

I personally love using the 'Sportmatic' mode when I'm driving on hilly terrain. It helps me control my speed going downhill without having to constantly brake, and then I can easily shift up when going uphill for more power. It makes for a smooth and efficient ride.
