I recently purchased a Kia Niro and after a few weeks of driving, the check engine light has turned on. I'm not sure what could be causing this and I'm worried it's a serious issue. What should I do?
ReplyFirst, don't panic. The check engine light can come on for a variety of reasons, some of which are not serious. The best thing to do is to take your car to a certified mechanic who can use a diagnostic tool to determine the exact cause of the light.
It's possible that something as simple as a loose gas cap could be causing the check engine light to turn on. Try tightening the cap and see if the light goes off. If not, definitely take your car to a mechanic to get it checked out.
