What is the difference between AWD and 4WD in the Kia Sportage?

I'm planning on purchasing a new Kia Sportage and I see that it offers both AWD and 4WD options. What exactly is the difference between the two and which one should I choose?

AWD stands for All-Wheel Drive, which means that the vehicle can send power to all four wheels at the same time for improved traction and stability. 4WD stands for Four-Wheel Drive, which is a more traditional system that allows you to manually switch between 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive.

In general, AWD is better for everyday driving situations and provides a smoother, more seamless driving experience. 4WD is better for off-road or rugged terrain, as it offers more control and traction in those situations.

My personal recommendation would be to go with AWD if you live in an area with frequent inclement weather or do a lot of city driving. If you plan on taking your Sportage off-road or live in a more rural area, 4WD might be a better option for you.
