What is the difference between the Kia Niro hybrid and plug-in hybrid models?

I am interested in purchasing a Kia Niro, but I am not sure which model is right for me. Can you explain the technical differences between the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models?

B

The main difference between the two models is the size of their battery packs. The hybrid has a smaller battery and relies on the gasoline engine more, while the plug-in hybrid has a larger battery that allows for longer electric-only driving range.

Another key difference is the charging time. The plug-in hybrid can fully charge in around 3 hours with a Level 2 charger, while the hybrid can only charge via regenerative braking while driving.

D

If you have a short daily commute and access to charging stations, the plug-in hybrid may be a better option for you. However, if you do a lot of long-distance driving, the hybrid may be more practical.
