What is the function of the ASR button in a Kia Ceed?

I recently purchased a Kia Ceed and noticed an ASR button on the dashboard. What does this button do and when should I use it?

The ASR button stands for Anti-Slip Regulation and is used to help you maintain control of your car in the event of a loss of traction, such as driving on slippery roads. It works by automatically reducing engine power and adjusting the braking system to keep your car stable.

E

You should use the ASR button when driving on wet or icy roads to prevent your car from skidding and losing control. It can also be useful when driving on loose gravel or sand.

N

In some cases, it may be beneficial to turn off the ASR button, such as when driving on deep snow. This allows the wheels to spin freely and can help you get out of a stuck situation.
