What might cause my Kia Picanto to overheat?

I noticed my Kia Picanto's temperature gauge rising to the red zone one day while I was driving. The check engine light came on and I pulled over to let it cool down. What could be causing this and what should I do?

It could be a variety of issues causing your Kia Picanto to overheat, such as a faulty thermostat, a leak in the cooling system, or a malfunctioning radiator. I would recommend taking it to a certified mechanic to properly diagnose and fix the issue.

Make sure to regularly check your coolant levels and make sure there are no leaks in the system. It's also important to not ignore any dashboard warning lights, as they can signal potential issues with your vehicle.

It's possible that your Kia Picanto's water pump may be failing, which can also cause overheating. If this is the case, it should be replaced by a professional as soon as possible to prevent further damage to your engine.
