When driving my Kia Stonic, the temperature gauge suddenly goes into the red zone and the engine starts to smell like it's overheating. What should I do in this situation?
ReplyThe first thing to do is safely pull over to the side of the road and turn off the engine. Let it cool down for a few minutes before opening the hood.
Check the radiator for any leaks or cracks. If you see any, do not attempt to drive the car. Get it towed to a mechanic as soon as possible.
If there are no visible leaks, check the coolant level. If it's low, you may have a leak or a faulty radiator cap. Fill it up with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water, and keep an eye on the gauge while driving.
