When should I replace the spark plugs in my Kia Sorento?

I've heard that spark plugs should be replaced every 30,000 miles, but my Kia Sorento's owner's manual says they should be replaced every 100,000 miles. When should I really replace them?

It's always best to follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule, which in this case is every 100,000 miles. However, if you notice any symptoms like difficulty starting the engine, poor fuel economy, or engine misfires, it's a good idea to have your spark plugs checked and possibly replaced.

Replacing spark plugs sooner than necessary won't hurt your engine, but it will be an unnecessary expense. Stick to the schedule in your owner's manual and trust that it's been tested and recommended by the manufacturer.

If you do a lot of stop-and-go driving, regularly tow heavy loads, or drive in extreme temperatures, it's wise to replace your spark plugs more frequently. You can also consult with a trusted mechanic to get their opinion on how often you should replace them based on your specific driving habits.
