I've noticed that my Kia Ceed makes a loud knocking noise while I'm driving. It seems to be coming from the front of the car, near the engine. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
ReplyThis could be a sign that your engine oil needs to be changed. The knocking noise may be caused by low or dirty oil. I recommend getting an oil change and see if that solves the issue.
Another possibility is that your engine's timing belt or chain may need to be replaced. If either of these components is loose or damaged, it can cause a loud knocking noise while driving. Take your car to a trusted mechanic to have it inspected.
Sometimes the knocking noise can be caused by a problem with your spark plugs. These can become worn or damaged over time and may need to be replaced. If the noise is accompanied by a lack of power or misfires, this could be the issue.
If the knocking noise only occurs when you are turning, it could be a problem with your steering system. A worn or damaged power steering pump or rack and pinion can cause a knocking sound. Have your mechanic inspect these components for any issues.
