Why does my Kia Niro's engine make a ticking sound?

My Kia Niro's engine has recently started making a ticking sound. It seems to be coming from the top of the engine. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Emma, it is possible that the ticking sound is due to low engine oil. Make sure to check your oil level and top it up if it is low. If the issue persists, it could be a sign of a more serious problem and you should take your car to a mechanic.

Hey Emma, another common cause of ticking sounds in the Kia Niro is a faulty valve lifter. This can usually be fixed by replacing the lifter. It's best to take your car to a certified mechanic for this type of repair.

Hi Emma, I had a similar issue with my Kia Niro and it turned out to be a loose spark plug. Check to see if any of the spark plugs are loose and tighten them if needed. If the sound persists, it could also be a sign of a damaged spark plug and it should be replaced.
