Why does my Kia Picanto struggle to start in cold weather?

I've noticed that my Kia Picanto has trouble starting on cold mornings. It seems to turn over slowly and eventually starts, but it's more difficult than usual. Is there something wrong with my car or is it just a common issue with this model?

Hi Sophie, it's common for Kia Picantos to struggle to start in cold weather. The best solution is to get a stronger battery that can handle lower temperatures. Your local mechanic can help you find the right battery for your car.

Hi Sophie, make sure you're using the recommended oil for your car. Using thicker oil in the winter can make it harder for your car to start. Switching to a thinner oil can make a big difference.

Hi Sophie, another issue that can cause difficulties starting in the cold is a worn out starter motor. If your car has more than 100,000 miles on it, it might be time to replace the starter. Your mechanic can help you with this as well.
