Why does my Kia ProCeed's engine make a high-pitched whistling noise?

I recently purchased a brand new Kia ProCeed and I noticed that the engine makes a high-pitched whistling noise. It only happens when I accelerate, and the noise seems to go away when I let off the gas. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?
