Why does my Kia Sorento make a strange noise when I turn the steering wheel?

I recently noticed that my Kia Sorento is making a strange noise every time I turn the steering wheel. It's not a constant noise, but more of a squeak or grinding sound. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

That noise could be coming from a worn out power steering belt. It's important to get it checked and replaced if needed, as a failing power steering belt can cause serious problems while driving. I recommend taking it to a certified mechanic as soon as possible.

It's possible that the power steering fluid is low. Check the fluid level and top it off if necessary. If the noise persists, it could be a sign of a larger issue and I suggest taking it to a professional for further diagnosis.

I had a similar issue with my Kia Sorento and found out that it was caused by a loose bolt in the steering column. I tightened it and the noise went away. You may want to check for any loose bolts or connections in your steering system.
