Why does my Kia Soul have a loud engine noise?

My Kia Soul has been making a loud engine noise while driving. It seems to get louder when I accelerate. What could be causing this issue? Is it something I can fix myself or do I need to take it to a mechanic?

It is possible that your Kia Soul's engine noise is caused by a faulty exhaust system. This can be checked and repaired by a mechanic. However, if you are comfortable with car repairs, you can try checking and replacing the exhaust system yourself.

Another possible cause of the loud engine noise could be a worn out serpentine belt. You can visually inspect the belt and see if it is cracked or frayed. If so, it will need to be replaced.

If the noise is coming from the engine itself, it may be due to low oil levels or a faulty oil pump. Check your oil levels and top up if needed. If the noise continues, it would be best to take your Kia Soul to a mechanic for further diagnosis.
