Why does my Kia Soul's transmission make a clicking noise?

I've noticed that when shifting gears in my Kia Soul, there is often a clicking noise coming from the transmission. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

The clicking noise could be caused by low transmission fluid levels. Check the fluid level and top off if needed.
