Why does my Kia Sportage's engine make a ticking noise?

I recently noticed a ticking noise coming from my Kia Sportage's engine and I'm not sure what could be causing it. The car runs fine and there are no warning lights on, but the noise is quite noticeable. Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?

It's possible that the noise is coming from the valve train. This could be caused by worn out or loose components. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic to have it checked out.

Another potential cause could be a faulty exhaust manifold or gasket. This can also create a ticking noise in the engine. It's best to have a professional inspect and repair any potential issues with the exhaust system.

If you recently had your oil changed, it's possible that the wrong grade of oil was used, causing the engine to make a ticking noise. Double check with the mechanic or dealership to make sure the correct oil was used.
