Why does my Kia Sportage shake when I hit the brakes?

I've noticed that whenever I hit the brakes, my Kia Sportage starts to shake. It feels like the whole car is vibrating. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

This is a common issue with Kia Sportages and it is often caused by warped brake rotors. When the rotors become warped, they can no longer grip the brake pads properly and this results in a shaky feeling when braking. The best solution is to have your rotors resurfaced or replaced.

Another possible cause of this issue could be worn out suspension components. Your shocks and struts may need to be replaced if they are no longer absorbing the impact of braking. I recommend having a mechanic inspect your suspension to determine if this is the issue.

In some cases, improper tire balance can cause shaking when braking. I suggest having your tires balanced and rotated to see if that resolves the issue. If not, then it's likely a problem with the brakes.
