Why is my Kia Ceed's engine making a tapping noise?

I have noticed a tapping noise coming from my Kia Ceed's engine while idling. It seems to be getting worse and I'm not sure what could be causing it. I have checked the oil and it is at the correct level. What could be causing this noise and what should I do about it?

Hi John, the tapping noise could be caused by a couple of different things. It could be a problem with the valves or possibly a worn out camshaft. I recommend taking your Kia Ceed to a trusted mechanic to get it checked out. They will be able to diagnose the issue and make the necessary repairs.

Hi John, another possible cause of the tapping noise could be a faulty lifter or rocker arm. These components are responsible for controlling the valves and if they are malfunctioning, it could cause the noise you are hearing. Again, I suggest taking your Kia Ceed to a mechanic to get it looked at.

Hey John, the tapping noise may also be due to low oil pressure. I recommend checking the oil pressure and if it is low, getting an oil change as soon as possible. Low oil pressure can lead to engine damage if not addressed.
