Why is my Kia Niro's engine power significantly reduced when driving on steep uphill roads?

I recently bought a Kia Niro and noticed that when driving on steep uphill roads, the engine power seems to be significantly reduced. Is this a common issue with the Kia Niro? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
