The strange noise could be coming from a worn out or damaged transmission. It's important to have this checked by a mechanic as soon as possible.

It could also be due to a loose or damaged belt. Check the belt tension and condition and replace if necessary.

A dirty air filter or clogged fuel filter can also cause strange noises. Make sure to have these components checked and replaced if needed.

I had a similar issue with my Kia Rio and it turned out to be a faulty exhaust system. I suggest having the exhaust checked as well.

It's always best to have a qualified mechanic inspect your car for any unusual noises. Don't ignore the noise and get it checked as soon as possible.
