Strange noises coming from your engine can be concerning, but they are not uncommon. There could be a few potential causes for this issue. It's best to take your car to a professional mechanic to diagnose the problem. Some possible causes could be low oil level, worn out belts, or a faulty exhaust system.

I had a similar issue with my Kia Rio and found that the noise was coming from a loose fan belt. This is an easy fix that you can do yourself. First, open the hood of your car and locate the fan belt. If it is loose, you can tighten it using a wrench or socket set.

If the noise is more of a grinding sound, it could be an issue with your transmission. This can be a more serious problem and should be looked at by a mechanic right away. Delaying a transmission issue can cause further damage to your car and end up costing you more in the long run.
