Why is my Kia Sorento making a ticking sound when I accelerate?

I recently purchased a used Kia Sorento and have noticed that when I accelerate, there is a noticeable ticking sound coming from the engine. Is this something I should be concerned about?

It's possible that the ticking sound is caused by a loose or worn out spark plug. I would recommend taking your Sorento to a trusted mechanic for a tune-up to address this issue.

Another potential cause for the ticking sound could be low engine oil. Check your oil levels and top off if necessary. If the sound persists, it may be a sign of a bigger issue and should be checked by a professional.

If your Sorento has been sitting for a while without being driven, it could be a sign of a stuck lifter. This can typically be fixed by running the engine at a high RPM for a few minutes, but if the problem persists, it's best to have it checked by a mechanic.
