Why is my Kia Sorento's engine making a rattling noise?

I've noticed that my Kia Sorento's engine has been making a rattling noise recently. It happens mostly when I accelerate or when the car is in idle. What could be causing this and how can I fix it? Thank you.

Hi Lila, it's possible that the rattling noise is coming from loose or worn out engine mounts. These mounts hold the engine in place and if they are loose or damaged, the engine can vibrate and create a rattling noise. I recommend taking your car to a mechanic to have the mounts checked and replaced if necessary.

Hi Lila, another potential cause for the rattling noise could be a worn-out timing chain or tensioner. This can lead to a rattling noise in the engine and can also cause damage if left unresolved. I suggest taking your car to a mechanic to have the timing chain and tensioner replaced to prevent any further issues.

Hi Lila, it's important to note that rattling noises can also be a sign of low oil levels or dirty oil. I recommend checking your oil levels and seeing if they need to be topped up or changed. If the problem persists, it's best to get your car checked by a mechanic to ensure there are no underlying issues.
