Why is my Kia Sorento's torque converter locking and unlocking at highway speeds?

I have noticed that my Kia Sorento's torque converter is constantly locking and unlocking at highway speeds. This causes the RPM to fluctuate, making driving uncomfortable. Can you tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it?

This could be due to a faulty torque converter solenoid or a worn out torque converter clutch. I recommend taking your Kia Sorento to a certified mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue. It's better to address this problem sooner rather than later, as it could potentially cause damage to other components of your vehicle.

Have you recently changed your transmission fluid? If not, it could be contaminated or low fluid levels causing this issue. Check your transmission fluid and perform a flush and fill if necessary. If the problem persists, bring your Kia Sorento to a professional for further inspection.

This is a common issue with Kia Sorentos and is usually caused by a clogged transmission filter. Try replacing the filter and see if that solves the problem. If not, it could be a sign of a more serious issue such as a failing transmission pump. It's best to have a mechanic check it out to be sure.
