Why is my Kia Soul's engine making a knocking noise?

I recently bought a Kia Soul and noticed that the engine makes a knocking noise when I start it. This noise disappears after a few minutes of driving. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Hi Jenna, the knocking noise could be caused by a variety of reasons. One possible explanation could be that your engine oil is low or dirty. You can try changing the engine oil and see if the noise goes away. If it persists, it's advisable to take your car to a mechanic for further inspection.

Hey Jenna, it's always a good idea to be cautious when it comes to strange noises coming from your car. The knocking sound could be a sign of a bigger issue, such as a failing engine mount or a faulty spark plug. It's best to have a professional check it out to avoid any potential problems down the road.

Hi Jenna, I also own a Kia Soul and have experienced this knocking noise in the past. In my case, it was caused by a loose or damaged belt in the engine. I recommend taking your car to a Kia dealership as they are more familiar with common issues related to Kia models.
