Why is my Kia Soul's engine making a knocking sound?

I recently bought a Kia Soul and I noticed that the engine makes a knocking sound when I accelerate. Is this something to be concerned about? What could be causing this issue?

It is not uncommon for newer cars to experience engine knocking, especially during the break-in period. However, if the knocking sound persists or becomes louder, it could indicate a more serious issue. I recommend bringing your Kia Soul to a mechanic for a diagnostic check to ensure everything is functioning properly.

I had the same issue with my Kia Soul when I first got it. It turned out to be a faulty ignition coil which was causing the engine knocking sound. If you haven't already, I suggest getting your ignition system checked for any malfunctions.

I've been a mechanic for 10 years and have seen this issue occur in many Kia Soul models. It could be due to a dirty fuel filter, which can restrict the flow of gasoline to the engine, causing knocking sounds. I would recommend replacing the fuel filter and see if that resolves the issue.
