Why is my Kia Sportage engine making a knocking noise?

I have noticed a strange knocking noise coming from my Kia Sportage engine. It seems to happen at random times, but seems to get worse when I accelerate. What could be causing this and is it something I should be concerned about?

It is possible that the knocking noise is due to a lack of oil in the engine. Check the oil levels and top up if necessary. If the noise persists, it could be a sign of a more serious issue and you should take your car to a mechanic for further inspection.

Another possible cause of the knocking noise could be worn out spark plugs. These are responsible for creating the spark that ignites the fuel in your engine and if they are worn out, it can cause knocking noises. Consider getting them replaced if they have not been changed in a while.

I had a similar issue with my Kia Sportage and it turned out to be a faulty engine mount. This is a relatively easy fix and can be done by a mechanic. Make sure to get it checked as a faulty engine mount can lead to more serious problems if left unresolved.
