Why is my Kia Stonic making a strange noise while braking?

I have noticed that my Kia Stonic makes a strange noise when I apply the brakes. It sounds like a high-pitched squealing noise. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hey Jane, that strange noise is most likely coming from your brake pads. Over time, the pads wear down and begin to make noise when they come into contact with your rotors. The best way to fix this is by replacing your brake pads. If the noise persists, you may also need to get your rotors resurfaced or replaced.

Hi Jane, it could also be an issue with your brake calipers. If they have become stuck or damaged, this can cause a high-pitched noise when braking. I recommend taking your car to a mechanic to have them inspect the calipers and make any necessary repairs.

Hi Jane, another possibility is that your brake discs are worn or damaged. This can also cause a strange noise when braking. I suggest getting your brake discs checked and replaced if necessary.
