Why is the engine oil light flashing on my Kia Picanto?

I recently purchased a Kia Picanto and noticed that the engine oil light is flashing. It's my first time owning a car and I'm not sure why this is happening. Can someone please explain?

The flashing engine oil light could indicate a potential oil leak or low oil level. It's important to check your oil levels regularly and top up if necessary. If the light continues to flash after you have done this, it would be wise to take it to a mechanic for further inspection.

The engine oil light can also flash if the oil pressure is too low. This could be due to a faulty oil pressure sensor or a problem with the oil pump. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic as soon as possible to avoid any potential engine damage.

In some cases, the engine oil light may flash as a reminder for an oil change. Check your owner's manual to see when your last oil change was and if it's due for another one. It's important to stick to the recommended oil change intervals to ensure your engine runs smoothly.
