Why is the Kia Sorento engine making a loud clicking noise?

My Kia Sorento's engine started making a loud clicking noise after I took it in for routine maintenance. It only happens when the car is idling and seems to get louder when I accelerate. What could be causing this and what should I do?

It is likely that there is an issue with the engine's valves. This can be caused by a build-up of sludge or dirt, or a worn out valve seal. I recommend bringing your car to a mechanic to have it checked and repaired as soon as possible.

Another possible cause could be a loose or damaged belt in the engine. Check your car's belts and see if any of them are frayed or have significant wear and tear. If so, they may need to be replaced. It's always best to have a mechanic take a look and handle any repairs.

If the clicking noise is accompanied by rough idling or a decrease in engine performance, it could be a sign of a more serious issue like a failing piston or connecting rod. I highly recommend bringing your car to a trusted mechanic for a thorough inspection.
