I have noticed a decrease in braking performance and want to replace the brake pads myself. Can someone guide me through the steps?
ReplyFirst, gather all necessary tools and materials such as a new set of brake pads, socket wrench, jack stands, and a C-clamp. It's important to have everything on hand before starting.
Next, locate the brake calipers on each wheel and use the socket wrench to remove the bolts. Carefully remove the calipers and set them aside.
Remove the old brake pads and use the C-clamp to compress the caliper piston. This will make it easier to install the new pads.
Once the piston is compressed, place the new brake pads in the same position as the old ones. Double check that they are secure before moving on to the next step.
Put the calipers back in place and tighten the bolts. Make sure they are snug but not overly tight. Repeat the process for all four wheels.
